This painting serves as a reminder of what becomes of our physical bodies when we die and what I imagine that experience to be like. I like to believe that we continue to exist in some capacity after death, even if there is no proof or scientific evidence to this yet. This painting is not trying to depict heaven or hell, but rather my interpretation of the human soul beginning to approach some kind of spiritual space right after death. Much like how we are no longer attached to our physical bodies after death, this soul green robe represents that relationship to the body as the robe might slip away at any moment, allowing the soul underneath to be free and continue its journey.
